Documentation for VPD's proxy server
Dear Miss Laker:
In preparation for examining the party from within the VPD who will be testifying regarding the contents of the proxy logs, I request you please provide me a copy of the documentation for the proxy server product, so that I may adequately familiarize myself with it.
I realize this is not something you are required to disclose, under Stinchcombe, because it is not in the government's possession, so I am requesting it as a favor since I am in custody and don't have access to the internet (this is similar to my prior request for the Hunchly documentation). Therefore, I would much appreciate any assistance you can provide in this respect.
The vendor is named Splunk, and the product, from what I can tell, is also called Splunk. The product version the VPD was using is 8.1.0. I have been able to confirm the vendor has a web server (docs.splunk.com) which contains all of the product documentation, and it is freely and publicly available thereon.
If you're able to assist me in this respect, I believe the easiest thing would be to download each of the manuals for the 8.1.0 version of the product and copy them onto the BCPS laptop.
And finally, since Johnny Lam was the person who prepared and provided the logs to McElroy, I would request he be the party to testify about the content of the logs. I also notice he has CISSP and CCNP certifications, so he is more than qualified.
Thank you.
