Re:
Request for officer identification

Dear Sir/Miss:

On March 15, 2019, I presented myself to two CBSA officers inside the secondary inspection area at the Douglas Border Crossing. The time was approximately 5:00pm. The officers were working at the counter on the right-hand side (if facing south)/west side of the secondary inspection area.

The purpose of this letter is to request the names, badge numbers, or some type of identifying information of the two officers I interacted with at that time, for the purpose of obtaining a subpoena for their attendance and testimony at my criminal trial in the near future. I believe the testimony, of the female officer in particular (as she is the one I primarily interacted with, and she is the one who conducted the "investigation"), is crucial to my defense.

I should also point out that at the time I was present (March 15, 2019 at 5-5:30pm) the two officers in question were the only officers working at the west side counter. Therefore, it should be fairly straightforward to determine who they were.

I thank you for your time and assistance, and I look forward to receiving your prompt response.

Sincerely,

Patrick Fox

Re:
Second request for officer identification

Dear Sir/Miss:

On September 6, 2019, I forwarded (by mail) a letter, requesting the names or identifying information of the CBSA officers I interacted with at the west counter of the secondary inspection area on March 15, 2019. I have received absolutely no response from you, or from anyone at CBSA, regarding that request.

I am, therefore, resubmitting that request.

As I explained in the previous letter, the reason I require the names of the officers I interacted with is so I may seek a subpoena for their testimony at my current/ongoing criminal trial.

The relevant information, to assist you in determining which two officers I spoke with is as follows:

Date: Friday, March 15, 2019
Time: 4:30p, - 5:30pm
Location: West side counter of secondary inspection area.

There was nothing particularly distinct about the appearance of the two officers (one male, one female), and I believe they were sitting, so I couldn't estimate their height.

Nevertheless, a single check of your staff scheduling records should inform you of which officers were working at the west side counter between 4:30pm and 5:30pm on March 15, 2019.

Moreover, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) records confirm that they were notified by CBSA at approximately 5:30pm on March 15, 2019, that I had just left CBSA and was proceeding to the Blaine, WA border crossing.

In the event you continue to refuse to provide the requested information I shall have no choice but to request the court issue a subpoena to CBSA to provide the names of the two officers in question.

I thank you for your assistance in this matter and I look forward to your cooperation.

Sincerely,

Patrick Fox
