Judge:
Good morning, Mr. Johnson. Are you Mr. Fox?
Fox:
I'm Mr. Fox, yes.
Judge:
What are we doing, Mr. Johnson?
Johnson:
Your Honour, I'm the Crown on this file and it was put over to today's date for Mr. Fox to advise whether he wanted to seek bail, whether he was going to get a lawyer or not.
Judge:
What do you want to do, Mr. Fox?
Fox:
Well, I'm still waiting for evidence to come to prove that Mr. Johnson's submissions at the previous hearing are all either completely false or grossly misrepresented. So, I would like an adjournment.
Judge:
All right. How long is it going to take you to get a lawyer?
Fox:
No, I'm not trying to get a lawyer. I'm going to represent myself. I'm waiting for evidence to come to prove that he's full of crap.
Judge:
I'm sorry, but what kind of evidence are you waiting for? A transcript?
Fox:
No, no, no. Some of these submissions that he made at the first bail hearing last week are grossly inaccurate and so I'm just waiting for documentary evidence [indiscernible] to prove that everything he said is completely wrong.
Judge:
All right. And how long is it going to take you to get that?
Fox:
I don't know. Anywhere from, like, a week to three months. Who knows.
Judge:
Well, why don't we try a week? Mr. --
Fox:
Sure.
Judge:
-- Johnson, are you available October 1st?
Johnson:
One moment, Your Honour. I will say while I'm checking my calendar that I did make some submissions before JJP Rogers last week, but it wasn't in the context of a bail hearing,
and so needless to say I stand by what I said, but the fact is it's irrelevant at this stage --
Judge:
You know what? It doesn't matter. I didn't ask you for a comment.
But, you know, just to be safe, Madam Registrar, because Mr. Fox is upset, can we order a transcript, please, of what was said before the Judicial Justice of the Peace?
Clerk:
Yes, Your Honour.
Judge:
Thank you. Mr. Johnson, are you available October 1st?
Johnson:
I'm not, Your Honour, but I am available on October 3rd. I'm sorry, October 5th if that suits Mr. Fox.
Judge:
All right. Mr. Fox, October 5th, then?
Fox:
That's fine.
Judge:
Okay, October 5th, 9:30, this court by video. Thank you very much. Thank you.
